Creating a basic storyboard
Click “Load Video” and import the video files from your computer to DVD Creator’s collection library. Flash video is not the only choice----if you have videos in other formats such as MP4 or MOV and likewise, feel free to add them up!
After importing, you can preview the clips using the video window on the right. The window also allows you to take snapshots from your videos.
Below the collection section is the storyboard line. Here it’s you to decide which clip to be played back first, then second and so on. Just drag a clip from the collections above, and drop them in the storyboard bar. Re-managing the playback sequence is also a piece of cake; just drag the clip and drop it where it should be.
If you’d like to arrange videos in different genres, I recommend you create a title set for each genre. Click “Add Titleset” button to create a new title set, and then you can apply an individual storyboard to it. If there’s any need for more, repeat the process.
TIPS: Do remember, a DVD has a maximum capacity. The bar below the storyboard indicates how much space will be used on your DVD, so please don’t let it exceed the limit (shown as a red marker) or it’d be likely to fail while burning.
Adding transitions
Click the “Transition” tab above to switch to Transition menu. Here you’re provided with plenty of transition effects; try adding the ones you like to your storyboard between clips, in a similar pattern of drag and drop. Using transitions correctly can make it look smoother while one clip ends and another starts.
Below the transition effect in the storyboard there’s a number indicating the duration of the transition. By clicking on the number, you can type in the duration you desire.
If you’re lazy enough, just click “Random to All” and let Wondershare DVD Creator decide which effect to use.
Creating a DVD menu
Click “Menu” tab, and choose a style you prefer from the left panel. You can customize the menu by using the context menu below the tabs above, namely using a different frame or play button or adding extra text. Background image and music and thumbnails are also customizable if you use the buttons below the preview panel.
To re-arrange the elements in the menu, click on the element, and then you can resize or move it as you wish.
Burning the materials to a DVD
Final step before all’s done! Place an empty recordable DVD inside your DVD burner drive, and click “Burn” to advance to the burning options. Check if the options suits your TV and DVD player’s standards---- if nothing’s wrong, click “Start”. In a few minutes your DVD will be ready for playing.
If you’re not in an urgent need of burning it directly down to a disc, you can choose “DVD Folder” or “ISO File” and save the DVD-ready files to your hard drive for future uses.
TIPS:Use the context menu by the Capacity Bar to adjust the output DVD’s type and to balance video quality and playback time. Use the context menu by the Capacity Bar to adjust the output DVD’s type and to balance video quality and playback time.
